Karachi Halwa | Bombay Karachi Halwa | Cornstarch Karachi Halwa
Ingredients:
For sugar syrup:
1 cup water
1 1/2 cup sugar
For halwa:
100g cornstarch
1 cup water
3 tbsp ghee|clarified butter
Any food color (1 tsp water + color)
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp chopped pistachios
2tbsp chopped almonds
Method:
In a bowl mix cornflour and water keep that aside.
Add water & sugar to a pan dissolve the sugar over low heat.
Increase the heat and boil.
Boil until the sugar dissolves.
Add cornstarch to the sugar syrup & stir it continuously over low-medium heat.
Add ghee when the mixture is thick transparent.
Cook until the ghee disappears.
Now add lime juice, food color, and mix well.
Cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat, stir continuously.
Add chopped pistachios and almonds, mix.
Transfer it to a square-shaped container.
Spread that evenly with a spatula. Let it sit for 2 hours.
After 2 hours remove it out of the container (upside down).
Cut it into a small square shape.
